about

Drifting late.... Written and recorded while I was living in Framingham, MA, late 80s... I don't believe this was ever performed live.

lyrics

Song Comes Back

The last thing I often see
Before the room goes black
Is someone’s hand on my TV
And then this song comes back

I wake up still in the chair
Think I hear singing in the night
My eyes are closed, I know the way
To my bed and to a better life

Refrain:
I’ll give tomorrow one more chance
I’ll stand against despair’s advance

Chorus:
TV shows come and go
But some songs sing forever
The weather man waves his hands
But he can’t change the weather

Sometimes I only trust myself
And reruns keep me company
But there’s that song comes on the air
Comes in the dark to me

The last thing I often see
Before the room goes black
Is someone’s hand on my tv
And then this song comes back
